VGHS:S2 – Week Three

Yes, we already wrapped production. So why is this a week 3 update? Well, the last few weeks of VGHS were pretty nuts. We had action days; 6 day weeks – that 7th day was all prep; we were snowed in for a day, and tons more. Our whole team has been crazy busy and thus no time to update this blog. But that madness is over. So we are going to go back in time and show pics and a little info about the last 3 weeks of production.

Post Production has just started, and more information, images, videos and the like will start trickling in soon. As well as new content. So stay tuned!

Week 3 of VGHS was our final big week at the Youtube Stages. We shot almost all of episode 5 this week as it pertains to a specific holiday. This required a huge redress of all of our sets. The Dorms, the hallways, the common area, and the massive cafeteria. It took a lot of time, but the effort was worth it. Also, we got to have Dean Calhoun in a bunny outfit for three days. Awesome.

I don’t want to spoil episode 5, but let’s just say we also had a lot of work to do with Shot Bot. It is also the biggest episode for The Law, so Brian Firenzi was on set killing it. Some of you old school edu-gamers may recognize his costume.

While action started the next week, we did have one huge sequence that took most of a day. It involves a dunk tank and a ton of water. Youtube was kind enough to let us flood an area of their campus, and we did so in a pretty makeshift way. Tons of trashcans, and a lot of people dumping them at once. It was one of those sequences we wrote, and I really didn’t have much of an idea how we would shot it or make it happen. Explosions, car jumps, gun fights I get. How to dump hundreds of gallons of water on some one else’s property, that is a puzzle. But it turned out amazing.

Week four is when the action begins. Pics coming soon.
